Hello Blog-o-verse!
I'm starting to feel a little better... I had my wisdom teeth pulled Friday.
Not a great way to spend your weekend.
And further more.. Not a great way to spend the end of a "vacation"...

I was drugged up for a while. I haven't taken anything since 3:30 this afternoon.. so my head is clear and I can try to write a post before the pain gets too awful again...
I did try to read and comment on your posts over the last few days. If I didn't leave a comment.. I'm sorry -- there's a chance I fell asleep. If I did leave a comment.. I'm sorry -- there's a chance it doesn't make sense.. or it was 1/2 hearted or something like that.

As I mentioned above, this is the end of a "vacation". I use quotations, because Jerk Face and I didn't do anything. I wanted to get some painting done last weekend, and was off to a good start... until I decided to use a stencil.

You should never think that you can stencil a room in one day.

I'll save all of that for another day.

I was working on my pantry, and although it is mostly done..

It's not complete.

And I want to show you all the finished product.

Aside from painting, we went to the zoo. 

LB's a few months older this time, and enjoyed the animals much more.

I didn't take any photos this time.

We just enjoyed it.

Our Zoo just had a baby elephant, and LB loved it!

She makes elephant sounds. 

I should try to find the video I took of her and post it on here.

I know I told my parents I would send it to them...

I never did, in case you were wondering...

We got our new front door on Wednesday.

That took forever for them to install!

The guy called and said they would be there between 1-2p.

A little after 2:30 they finally showed up, and were there until just about 5p.

So much for THAT day.

Thursday, we purchased some new outside lights 

(and a new pantry light - Jerk Face said that was my reward-

- he really knows how to treat me right, you know? HA!)

And that brings me to Friday.

(That is my blankie from when I was little -- I'm letting LB borrow it for a while... when I'm not using it, of course!)

I was on the couch ALL weekend.

I still feel like crap.

I think it's the oxycodone.

It makes me really nauseous. And drowsy.

I don't know why people would take that to get high.

It sucks. BAD.

This afternoon, I thought I would take Tylenol 3.

I was hoping I would be less drowsy...

yeah.

I just slept for 3 hours.

Jerk Face was jealous.

I'm sure he's jealous of my new diet for the week too:

Some of it looks good...

but I just want crunchy!

Jerk Face has been munching on tortilla chips and salsa!

What a jerk...face!!!

Arts & Crafts

I do a lot of rocking LB to sleep in her room. A LOT.
She's 13 months old, and therefore, after I add it all up, I believe that I have spent 834,729,874 hours in her room. Just rocking and rocking and rocking... maybe a little dozing off here and there, but mostly rocking her to sleep.  At least trying to anyways.

There's not much to look at when I'm rocking her. I have my curtains covering the windows, so I can't look out there.  I am just facing one big giant green wall:

I have an amazing view, no?

SO... I decided to do something about it.

I always knew that I wanted to incorporate a line from one of her books in her room.

It's was the very 1st book I bought her:

The last line in the book reads:

I love all that you will be

and everything you are

So, I have been putting a together an art project in my head.

I bought wooden letters of her name... all nine of them..

Painted them pink. 

Bought 4 canvases and knew I wanted the quote to be raised.

So.

I used glue.

When it dried, I tried to build it up higher, by going over it again.

NOT a good idea.

The glue just ran all over the place.

Live and learn, right?

I then tried puffy paint.

Success!

I painted the canvases a light pink and painted white and green polka dots all over.

I then painted the raised letters a different pink color.

And the result?

I know that you can't see the quote on this photo.. sorry!

..also.. no. we never bought that vent cover.

We always forget when we go to a hardware store.

I put it on my newest list of things to do.

(Jerk Face just loves those!)

I feel like it needs something else.. but Jerk Face was tired of it sitting on out kitchen island.

I think it was only there for, like a week.

Ah! Friday, you never get here quick enough, and then you go too fast!

Student Painters.  

What the Friday? For real.

They're nice enough kids. Very polite... I just hope they're not in school to become professional house painters.

Jerk Face did a nice thing, by 'giving them a chance,' because 'college kids need money'.... but really?

We were told that this would be about a three day job...

We're on day number five. (Not counting the holiday weekend, where they left our house looking sloppy..)

There are spots of paint all over our siding... We're not painting the siding. Only the trim.

8:00 A.M.

(at least they're on time)

The music is blaring!

(but they listen to good music... Classic Rock - for those of you who need to know what constitutes as 'good music')

I left the other day to escape the painter boys. It's weird. They're in my windows. 

LB is fascinated and bangs on the windows to get their attention.

So. I needed to go out.

We went to Kohls.

(I had $40 kohl's cash and need to spend it.)

I get all the way to the store.

Unpack the stroller.

(I don't like using theirs.. LB can't lay back in them.)

Get everything ready to go in.. just short of unbuckling LB.

(Not to mention, I was in the parking lot for about 15 mins talking to my parents beforehand.)

...

And then I remember.

I bought something online the other day.

My wallet is on the couch.

Saturday Morning Scene-Where did all the kids go?

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

This Saturday morning, I expected to wake up to a bunch of young men painting my house...

No, I am not the next Gabriel Solise (FYI: she's a fictional character who had an affair with her teenage lawn boy.)  This is REAL Housewife of H2oVille, not DESPERATE Housewife of H2oVille... Pay attention, Pa-Lease!

Anyways, why did I expect to see a bunch of boys painting my house? Because we hired Student Painters to paint our house.. and they started on Friday...

They apparently don't work on weekends.. because I left for my TRX class, and they weren't there. I came back from my TRX class, and they weren't there.. We left to go do some shopping, came back, and they weren't there.  

Big deal, KSK! ...So you say!  

Let me show you what our house looks like... and will look like until Tuesday, at least, I'm sure!

Yes... That's a partially painted house (and yes, those are still overgrown bushes...)... 

I told you that we were the most embarrassing house on the block... *sigh*

The neighbors are having people over, and I'm sure, we're the spectacle on the street!

The boys also got paint all over our siding...
we'll see.... it will turn out okay (cross your fingers please!)

Windows and Weirdos

So.. This was SUPPOSED to be my "What I Love Wednesday" post... but it just didn't work out... (Dirty rotten LB.. always screwing things up with your anti-sleep-at-night behavior!)

Anyways... Yesterday, we got:

 Our new windows!!!!

I know they stand out, but we are planning to get the houses trim painted.. ..I REALLY hope it turns out okay...

The two guys installing them were here from 8:30a until 12:30p...
LB and I were playing in the living room and Jerk Face was working from home (I don't like to be home by myself with strangers invading my space... I have stranger danger)
Like I said, LB... who can crawl... and I were playing in the living room... One of the guys left this on our living room floor:

Do you know what that is? An electric saw.  It's a pretty good thing that I pay attention in front of other people  to what LB's doing... she just may have sawed off her arms. Pay no attention to the black cord coming from the chair to the couch... It may be my laptop cord....

Another weird thing?  One of  the guys (or perhaps both?) knew where our bathroomS were.. without asking!  ...CREEPY!  

To be fair... The upstairs bathroom door could have been open (we keep our bathroom doors shut to keep out the Minja.. and soon LB).. but he just went into the downstairs one -- without knocking or asking if that was our bathroom...  Jerk Face and I just looked at each other like: "...??? huh?..."

Is that just me? Or do you think that's weird too?
