Tuesday's With LB

A few weeks ago, we went to the botanical gardens in our area.


 We saw some ducks... I'm not sure who was more excited... Jerk Face or LB?

(and just because I think this is a neat shot:)

in the car, while Daddy is running in to get some milk:

Then we went our first family nature walk.

(this is pretty much the only LB picture we took there)

A few tidbits about LB:

On her 15 month appointment, she cried.

She is 32 inches long.

I forget how much she weighed... 

seriously, she cried almost the entire time we were there.

(and she didn't get her shot until the very end.)

The doctor said that 15 month olds really start experiencing stranger anxiety...

(and he said that she'll be okay when he backs away.. and then he backed up to the other side of the room.. and? She continued to cry.. HA!)

She clearly says :

'Mommy'

--more like "momeeee"--

(not ma or mama anymore)

Daddy

(not dada)

Kitty

and she knows what a kitty says

*and what Mojo says*

along with:

pig, cow, elephant, zebra, horsey (Those 3 say the same thing),

bunny, fish, mouse, birdie, anteater, walrus, sheep

(we're working on ducky and puppy)

She says "bobbeee"

Not sure why?

(but we call her 'Whitney' when she does it...)

She bows and says "thank you"

(hope to get video of that soon)

She started feeding her baby doll it's bottle.

She can put the coins in her piggy bank.

She's pretty good at putting the circle and square in their holes (with help).

She stacks the rings on that little yellow thing.

and usually WEARS them too..

*which reminds me.. She loves purses. She'll wear one and knee walk or hold my hand and walk around saying "bye! bye!" and blowing kisses.

She walks only when she has our fingers.. 

but sometimes forgets, and walks just fine without.

She has a new found love for shoes.

she never really liked wearing them in the past..

She stood up on her own tonight.

no help from people or furniture.

all on her own!

She knows where her:

head, hair, brain, ears, cheeks, nose, mouth, tongue, eyes, neck, belly and button, heart, feet, toes, hands are

(she's learning eyebrows)

She's just getting so big!

I love her! :)

11 months

Oh LB! You are getting so big!
You are eleven months old today...  one month shy of being one year old!

You can say 'Mama', but you prefer to say 'Dada'...
When you 'release some vapors' (because you're a lady) -- You wave your hand and smile, saying 'Stinky!'
You can (sort of) sign 'done' when you're eating.. and you don't eat very well right now. (Driving Mommy and Daddy a little nuts...)
You love to drink water from your sippy cup after every meal. (Although, sometimes you spit it out.. I think you like the way it feels..
You still love the 'Kitty' and chase that poor Minja around the house, grabbing his tail whenever you can.
You love to dance and bounce  around.
You smile at every person you see, and if they don't pay attention to you, you will let them know you're there!
Everyone comments on how happy you are. Always smiling and waving!
You have 7 teeth and more are coming, I'm sure!
A favorite pastime of yours is picking things (usually Mojo's fur) off of the ground (and then put it into your mouth...)
You are beginning to pull yourself up to standing as often as you can. I'm sure you'll be 'couch cruising' soon!

This and That and LB

Just to clarify...

Jerk Face also told me that it sounds like my neighbor boy really went to the bar and told people about our bedtime dance in this post... So, I thought I would clear it up and tell you that sometimes I make things up in my head... This was just an imaginary rant... I'm sure he's an upstanding young man... and I don't think any negative thoughts about him because he still lives with his parents.

I know you are DYING TO KNOW whether or not the Gerber Good Start was stinky or not...

Well, Gerber Good Start was the least offensive to the olfactory senses... however, LB's tummy didn't care for it much... :(  Boo!  So, we've decided to switch back to Enfasmell ... the lesser of two evils....

LB's 1st birthday is only 2 1/2 months away. Can you believe it?! Just a few days ago Jerk Face was driving us home from the hospital ...going about 15 mph!! :)  ..And now she's almost a year!
We had her 9 month well check last Monday. She's 28 inches and 19.4 lbs...
She can play pat-a-cake, wave good bye, and she'll try to pull herself up on anything she can! She can't crawl forward, but she's the best reverse scooter in town! She says 'Uh-oh' and 'mama' (she says mama usually when she's tired or mad... *sigh*) She has 4 teeth (her 2 bottoms, left vampire, and just got her top front on the left). She likes to blow and she likes to 'eat' the wind. She LOVES to click her tongue, dance, 'gurgle' and grab anything and everything within her reach!
For her birthday, I had asked whether you like owls or birds better... You guys chose owls, but Jerk Face likes the birds (because we call LB 'Tweets')... So! I'm going to try to incorporate them both :)   ...we'll see how that works out...
