What The Friday?!

It's Friday again!!
Not that I'm complaining, but this week FLEW by!

Of course, we all remember LB's drinking issues...
Really, LB?
You look like you're three sheets to the wind.
what the friday?

I bought some exercise capri pant thingys a while back.
I threw the bag and receipt away.
(of course I did)
Only to get them out a few weeks later to wash them
(why I didn't wash them right away? I have no idea...)
And attached to the leg was:
what the friday?

*as a side note: I read the article from where I found this image,
and it tells how he removed it.

Jerk Face went to the Bungles Bengals game on Sunday.
what the friday?
He's a stinky Bengals fan?
Yes. Yes he is.
It's a sort of shame I hold in my heart.
(and out in public)

Anyways. He spent kind of a lot of money.
I do not want to put on here how much it was.
Just know that he does not have anything to show for it,
except some hazy memories of some strange guy with a gambling issue.
what the friday?
and gambling man has hazy memories of a jerk face with a drinking issue.
(just kidding!!  He was out having fun!)
* I'm adding his total to what I get to spend this next time I go shopping*
{evil laugh}

Thursday's Thoughts and Things

I started reading The Help.
It's the first book I've read in a LONG time.
I used to read constantly. *I was once accused of being stuck up, because I was reading on my lunch break instead of chit-chatting... That guy was an ass.
Why did I stop reading?
I think it was because I thought I would read Don Quixote.
It was a really great book... just sometimes difficult. Always having to read the footnotes to understand what I just read.  Well over 1000 pages.  It took me so long to read.  *I don't recall how many pages, and I'm too lazy to go find it and look.  I also don't recall how long it took to read... it was probably 7-8 years ago...
Anyways, after that book.. I was done for a while.
And then I just didn't feel like I had the time to read.. what with seeing Jerk Face and all..
and then when I had LB, I REALLY didn't have much time for myself.
But, I'm finally getting a groove.
I've learned the value of coffee.
(I was/am not a coffee drinker.. but I make... coffee concoctions.)
and I'm waking up before LB... which is wonderful.

Back to The Help.
I also read it out loud to LB, and I read it in the Southern way it was written.
I've always loved talking in accents.
A refined Southern accent is my favorite.
(That's how I make Miss Skeeter speak... and Miss Daisy -- that's one of LB's toys)

**True Story**
I was a in the 6th or 7th grade. Painfully shy.  We had an assignment where we had to read in front of the class. (I hated that... pure torture.)  I had read my paper at home several times... in a British accent.. to make it seem less boring..  After I read it in class, my teacher told me that she loved how I spoke with a British accent.  ::MORTIFIED:: (to put it mildly.)

So the point of this post?
I have been speaking in a Southern accent at home. And not meaning to do it...
Sorry if I start blogging with a bit of a Southern twang.
*smile y'all!*

Tuesdays With LB ~ 9/27/11

LB escaped through the baby gate and into the kitchen the other day.
Looky Looky at what she's "playing" with...

Hey Everybody! Look what I brought!!!

Let's just close this. Don't want to miss this party.

Let's see if I can fool Mama into thinking I'm 21...

This is kind of heavy...

Let me just sit this over here...

Hmm... They're a little tricky to get out, huh?
LB! How many did you have??

Not THAT many, Mother.
Mind your business.

Always on me, that one.

Ahh! Let's just grab me a semi-cool brew...

Hey! Did you need one?

Let me just grab one here...

These are good! I think I'll have another one!
Did you want another one too?

::slurring her words now::
Mama! This is the BEST play time EVER!

Gees, LB.
I'll never get nominated for Mother of the Year now.

..Maybe I should have saved this post for my WTF?
(It's coming up Friday, if you'd like to link up!)

Just Some Small Talk About The Mail...

I have a new laptop!!!
It's the MacBook Air.  Jerk Face is very excited, although it is MINE. Do you hear that, Jerk Face? Mine.
My previous laptop was one that I have had for about 3 years... Jerk Face stole ahem "borrowed" it from work. It was an old one that nobody used anymore.  It was a Dell, and served me well. (I'm a poet and didn't even know it) -- It ran pretty slow, liked to turn off and re-boot... and aways froze.  I'll miss the headaches.  Oh! And Jerk Face heard about this "awesome" new program that he loaded onto it.. Umbuto, or something. I hated it. I liked Windows.  The woes of being a computer nerd's wife..  ::long sigh::
But. Jerk Face is an Apple guy now.  *I recall us buying our 1st computer together 6 years ago, and he was anti-Mac.. how things have changed...
He got his first iPhone through work... which led to the iPad. Remember? Our BFF? Then he started online schooling, and we needed a new desktop computer (ours stopped working... he never even tried to fix it. Yes, Jerk Face, I'm telling the Blogosphere about it.) So, he bought a Mac.  And now? I have a MacBook.
My mousepad scroller thingy (I'm pretty sure that's the technical term..) is apparently awesome, because Jerk Face ALSO ordered a wireless one for his desktop. He tracked the package everyday, telling me where it shipped from, to, next...etc. etc. etc.
He was pretty sad when he found out that his special mousepad scroller thingy was going to be delivered by the USPS, instead of UPS.. or Fed Ex.. or whatever.

...the following is the actual instant messaging chat. Only the names have been changed -- to protect the idiots innocent. At the time, we still hadn't received any of the new computer stuff...

me:  So.. I was putting LB down for a nap, and I hear a large truck sounding vehicle stop at our house... at least that's what it sounded like....

I wasn't going to wake her up to go see who it was -- this was my 3rd attempt.

3rd nap attempt
time up there...

so about 15-30 mins have passed ... you lose all sense of time up there, you know...

and I come down to see if it was the computer.

I open the door,

there sits a box

I hope this isn't the computer.

it's really small
   Jerk Face:  :)

me:  i pick up the box

man, this is really light
what is it?

..addressed to...

me!  :)
it was the mou mou pig!
Jerk Face:  ... You're an ass hole!
 me:  where's that bubble?
i gotsta pop it!
Maybe I am an asshole... but it sure was funny!  :)

*and because you are probably DYING to know what a 'mou mou pig' is; it's this Jelly Cat stuffed animal that LB loves. I wanted to buy a 2nd one because the original Ziggy Piggy (that's it's name... from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure? Napoleon... when he eats all the ice cream?) was pretty dirty, and I didn't want to ruin it in the wash, and not have a back-up. **Jelly Cat stopped making them, and another website that I ordered from never sent one to me... they could've sent me an email, you think? I realized it wouldn't send when I got my credit card statement and the refunded my money... I was JUST about to send them a WTF email...

What The Friday?!

It's Friday!!!
(which I didn't realize until a few minutes ago... what the friday?!)

I use a measuring cup to scoop out Cheerios for LB..
And last night, I was too lazy to put the Cheerios back in the container..
Instead, I just put the cup on the shelf.
This morning, when I went to get Cheerios..
I grabbed the container..
and the left over Cheerios flung all over my pantry!

what the friday?!

My parents were in Texas last week.
And my Dad told me that he had a What The Friday for me:
They were at the Golden Corral.
(and may I just say: Yuck, Parents! Yuck!)
My Dad went up to get some ice cream...
then he went to get some toppings for his ice cream
but he had to wait on an (unsupervised) child..
this child had filled his plate FULL of little candies that are meant for the ice cream!
He took all of them!
My poor father was unable to enjoy his ice cream to it's fullest potential!
what the friday?!

**fyi-- my parents actually thought this was pretty funny, and were not too terribly sad that they couldn't have any little candies for their ice cream!**

Just Some Small Talk about cookies...

Ok. I have lost some weight.  *go me!*
People have been noticing.
and I'm okay with this.
I love seeing people that I haven't seen in a while,
and they all have been asking if I lost weight.

Lots of feel good stuff.

I don't own a scale, so I do not know the exact amount that I have lost... but as of Labor Day, it was 15 pounds... which brings me 5 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight.. and 10 pounds more than when I got married (6 years ago)... which is my goal weight... fyi.

I believe I know the culprit.
it's the Newman O's!

I'm not a calorie counter.
And if I like something I generally do not look at the nutritional values.
for some terrible reason
I looked at the label of my Newman O's.

I hope I did not convert anyone into a Newman O eater.
If I did, and you want to remain in the blissdom that is ignorance...
Please. Skip this next section.
There are 130 calories per serving.
2 cookies are 1 serving.
I used to eat about a box in one day week.
There are 13 servings per box.
That is 1690 calories, folks.
More than what you are supposed to eat in a day.
I was eating an extra day of calories... and not GOOD calories.. per week.
Eating 8 days a week.
Plus all the OTHER junky food that I eat.

I stopped eating them for a while, because the stores were out...
Now I have an entire package of my Newman O's in my pantry.
Only 2 cookies are gone.
They beckon to me... but I resist.
They make me want to vomit.

This is where it gets even sadder.

Remember my shopping trip?

That's where the "small talk" comes in....

KSK: I think I need to do another shopping spree....
Jerk Face: Why?
KSK: Because,  I stopped eating those cookies and now I don't fit into my new clothes anymore...
Jerk Face: Didn't we just buy more cookies?
KSK: ...

cheap ass.

Tuesdays With LB ...and a recipe!

I just want to let my readers know, that I am going to start doing this "Tuesday's With LB" every week. She's changing so much, and my family doesn't get to be here to witness it. ..and that's the entire reason I started blogging...    So.. since I don't have enough photos and videos of LB on here ...  ::looks around blog::  ahem.. well. Here are some more:
LB is letting me know she wants a snack...
LB is pleased with the snack.
..with a Cheerio stuck to her chin...

Watching some television.

Talking to her television friends.
..with the Cheerio still on her face...

Okay. I think I'm done.

Get me outta here!
...And after snack time, we do some chores....

LB decides to help me fold some laundry:

**She actually helped me put everything back after I turned off the camera!**

And I'm participating with FTLOB Tasty Tuesday!  I've decided that instead of "Pizza Friday" every week, we would do "Fancy Friday"  .. which is basically just one of the recipes that take a little longer to cook up. This recipe was found on the back of a cheese package:

Chicken & Spinach Pesto Lasagna
12 uncooked lasagna noodles
3 tbsp olive oil
1 c onion
3 cloves garlic
2 (12 oz) pkgs frozen chopped spinach
3 c cooked diced chicken breast meat
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 c ricotta cheese
1 large egg
1-1/2 c prepared pesto *plus 2 tbsp*
3/4 c grated parmesan cheese
2 c mozzarella cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 350*
  2. Spray 13x9 inch lasagna pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Heat oil in large skillet over med-high heat. Cook and stir onions until transparent. Add spinach; cook and stir about 5 mins. Add chicken and stir about 5 mins. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. In large bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, egg, pesto and parmesan until thoroughly blended. Add chicken and spinach mixture to bowl and stir to combine.
  5. Spread the 2 tbsp of pesto on bottom of baking dish.
  6. Layer 4 noodles, slightly overlapping. Top with 1/3 of mixture and then 1/3 of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers twice.
  7. Bake about 35-40 minutes.
Refrigerate any leftovers. Serves eight.

I feel I must tell you.  I apparently can't follow directions. I added the chicken and the mozz to the ricotta mixture and layered the 2 mixes. It turned out fine... I did find it weird, that they didn't want me to combine it, however...  oh well! It was edible!   Jerk Face loved it!

What The Friday?!

I am making wreaths.
Three of them.
I'm bored.
Good enough reason.

I have my Autumn one finished, but I don't have a wreath hanger.
So..I went to Joann's to pick one up and also get some ribbon for another wreath.
I was in that store for about an hour.
I COULD NOT find the wreath hangers!

I did not ask for help.
I went looking for someone, but they were all busy with other people.
I COULD have interrupted them, but I didn't feel like it.

I waited in line to check out with my ribbon and new basket (photo op in future!)
The line was a thousand miles long!
Who knew that crafters all went to Joann's on Thursdays about 5p..?

Finally it was my turn.
I checked out, turned to walk out...
The wreath hangers!
On the opposite wall from where I walked in!
I decided NOT to get one.
LB was getting hungry.
And the line was STILL a thousand miles long!

Aren't Wednesday's Wonderful?

It's a wonderful Wednesday:
Have you seen this yet?

I have been so sad about my cookies...
My sister had checked for them in her grocery store...
My mom was out and about and looked for them.
(Thank you, by the way!)
...but they didn't find any anywhere...
.: so sad :.

Jerk Face and I went grocery shopping today...
I contemplated asking the customer service desk people what the heck is goin' on with my Peanut Butter Newman O's?!!!

They're baaack!!!
In a different spot... but they're back!
All is right with the world!

Have a GLORIOUS day!

Tuesdays With LB

I kind of regret teaching her the "more" sign...
That's all she does.
Mama has food?
She stalks me walking around on her knees, signing "more".
.::sigh::. least it's cute...

Two - Steppin'

Wednesday was the start of a new chapter in our lives...

My little LB has decided to stop getting around like this:

She has finally decided to start using her feet!!
..sort of..

...Yes. I MAY have baited her with some Cheerios.

She's still only taking about two steps and then drops back down to her knees.

Soon, Mojo. Very soon...
Muhahaha! I'm touching you!!!

Look Ma! I'm gonna get him!

Oooh. You are quick, Minja.
One day, you WILL be mine. One day.
