Should I just bang it?

So... I need a change.
I want to cut my hair like this:
source

....but that's a pretty big change... (and, unfortunately I don't look like her) as my hair is currently like this:

                                                                    ^ me  ^
(the only semi-recent photo, that I could find, of me with my hair down)

So, I thought I would get bangs first..
(This is not me, either...)

The thing is... I have gone to the salons and asked for bangs... but, apparently, I wouldn't look good in bangs... or something? Because not one hairstylist would give me bangs!!!  Stating that it would be a big change, maybe I should start with layers....  Huh?

But NOW! I have a new issue.  I lost some hair.. (Thanks LB!)... but it grew back.... wherein lies the problem. . . .
*big, loud sigh*

My hair does this:  (and sorry for the super crappy photos....)

I look like I have devil horns growing out of either side of my head!
I've tried hair spraying them down... to no avail.
I've tried gel... ick!
I pin them down with hair clips... Nothing.
I'm at a loss.
I just ordered Moroccan Oil last Tuesday.. but mostly for the frizz ball that is the rest of my hair.... Maybe that will help it?
What do you guys think? About it all :)
How do I fix my hair?
And what do you think about the hairstyles?
(fyi: my hair is fine and a little wavy and I have a very square jaw -- not quite Bethenny Frankel, though... I'm not sure that first haircut will look good?)

Help quick! It's an emergency!!!

I think you should get bangs! Why the hell not?! I hate when hairdressers don't just do what we ask. Seriously, it's just hair. It'll grow back out if you decide you hate it :)

Hey lady! Found you on FTLOB :)

I say go for the bangs! I would even suggest going for the short cut. It's so cute! Last summer i had hair the length of yours, and one night I told my boyfriend "cut it off." He did it, and it was awful, but once I went to my hairdresser friend and got it fixed I loved it. I'm still rockin' the short do, it is so easy to manage. Go for it!

I think the first haircut would look stunning on you! You definitely have the bone structure and face shape for it, I say go for it! (Ha but I rarely tell someone not to do something so...) Great blog, I'm a new follower!

Go to a different salon and get bangs! I love your hair down. So pretty.

Here from FTLOB! I agree with Marlee. Skip the bangs and go straight to the short-ish crop. It'll grow back.

I'd do layers and bangs!

You could totally pull off bangs, and with the layers it will be really cute. I get those "devil horns" too and they drive me nuts, so if you figure out someway to get those suckers to lie flat let me know!

They will grow back. I once asked my hairdresser to cut the front of my hair shorter-I didn't ask for bangs and well she gave me bangs and I cried for weeks. True story! Do what you are comfortable with! have a great week!

I'd go with bangs.

I'm really not a good person to ask though. I have no clue what to do with hair.

I think you would look great with bangs - or as they call them here in Australia a "fringe". I know - weird eh?.
I came over from a blog hop :)
I'm having a giveaway I think you'd love - check it out.

Definitely do the bangs!! The short look would look adorable too and I'm sure it would make your morning routine much easier ;)

Oh no, I am NOT a fan of doing the bangs! This may or may not have something to do with the fact that I have bangs for the first time since I was 10, and I hate!them! seriously. hate. ugh.

think lonnnnngggg and HARD about it first! mine are taking forevers to grow out!

stopping in from mingle monday! happy monday to you!

I'm sorry :( My hair does some weird stuff with bangs too. My husband won't let me get them anymore! :) Stopping by from Mingle Monday!

Thank you for stopping by my little site today - I really appreciated your sweet comment.

I think that snazzy short cut would be adorable on you -- but I'm one with long hair too, and I can't ever seem to chop it, no matter how bad I want to.

stopping by from Mingle Mondays...I had the same devil horns awhile after my son was born too. I would go with the bangs.

go for the bangs! they grow back out so easily. don't listen to the stylists - do what you want. i think they'd look fabulous on you. plus, like you said, it's better to start with a little cut. don't know what to tell you about the horns. i've had them my entire life. if you know how to fix them, please let me know. :)

BANGS! You can always pin them back if you don't like them.

I could never pull off the short hair but admire those that do- but bangs seems like a good stepping stone
