This and That and LB

Just to clarify...

Jerk Face also told me that it sounds like my neighbor boy really went to the bar and told people about our bedtime dance in this post... So, I thought I would clear it up and tell you that sometimes I make things up in my head... This was just an imaginary rant... I'm sure he's an upstanding young man... and I don't think any negative thoughts about him because he still lives with his parents.

I know you are DYING TO KNOW whether or not the Gerber Good Start was stinky or not...

Well, Gerber Good Start was the least offensive to the olfactory senses... however, LB's tummy didn't care for it much... :(  Boo!  So, we've decided to switch back to Enfasmell ... the lesser of two evils....

LB's 1st birthday is only 2 1/2 months away. Can you believe it?! Just a few days ago Jerk Face was driving us home from the hospital ...going about 15 mph!! :)  ..And now she's almost a year!
We had her 9 month well check last Monday. She's 28 inches and 19.4 lbs...
She can play pat-a-cake, wave good bye, and she'll try to pull herself up on anything she can! She can't crawl forward, but she's the best reverse scooter in town! She says 'Uh-oh' and 'mama' (she says mama usually when she's tired or mad... *sigh*) She has 4 teeth (her 2 bottoms, left vampire, and just got her top front on the left). She likes to blow and she likes to 'eat' the wind. She LOVES to click her tongue, dance, 'gurgle' and grab anything and everything within her reach!
For her birthday, I had asked whether you like owls or birds better... You guys chose owls, but Jerk Face likes the birds (because we call LB 'Tweets')... So! I'm going to try to incorporate them both :)   ...we'll see how that works out...

Sound the alarm!  There are moments ... however brief and fleeting *wink*... when Jerk Face has a stroke of genius.

I have an indoor extension cord, I never have a good place to put it...  Somewhere coiled up on the ground always seemed the best... but then Jerk Face did this for me:

It's Time For Bed

Let me tell you about LB's bedtime routine...

it starts downstairs, as Jerk Face holds LB, I am the Master of Ceremonies... and start the routine...
"ATTENnnnTION!" (pause for effect)  "Forward ... MARCH!"
LB gets SO excited!
and then I begin my song:
'The Ants Go Marching One by One; Hurrah! Hurrah!...' LB can't contain herself! She is bouncing in Dad's arms, laughing! She LOVES it!
We make our way up the stairs and through the hall (stopping at 3.. to 'hug LB') and when we get to 4 we 'walk through the door' and into LB's room... where we finish the song...... I do a variety of dance moves (all the while exuberantly marching ... 5-take a dive, 6- pick up sticks, 7-gaze at Heaven, 8-close the gate, at 9.. I 'get in line' behind Jerk Face and LB and we march around her room...  Then we get to 10... and this is my big finale... I'm waving my arms and using exaggerated movements... as it is the end... 'boom boom boom boom Boom boom boom boom B Ooo ooo oo o mmmm!'  LB always smiles at the end Boom! Because she is so totally over the song by then and knows it's finally over!! I always have fun :)


Soo... Did I mention that we have yet to put up curtains in LB's room?
Yep! She's been a real human for 9 months now, and we still don't have any kind of window treatment up...
I'm okay with it.
well....
until I looked out the window one night while doing my ...very artisic surely worthy of being on So You Think You Can Dance? ... dance, and low and behold... sitting on the porch across the street, looking in the window... watching this sacred family ritual... is the neighbor boy! He's not really a boy, since he's probably in his early 20's.. and I'm sure he's at the local pub, the one Jerk Face and I used to frequent, talking to all the flies we used to talk to and telling them about these crazy people that he watches... He probably invites them over so they can witness it for themselves... Dude! I HAVE to check it out! It's just too funny to be true!
Oh! The embarrassment!
Perhaps when he tells his parents... !Yeah! You still live with your parents! Stop making fun of me, punk! ... they'll just say: 'oh! Those weirdos must be good parents!'  Because EVERYbody knows that in order to be a good parent you need to make an ass out of yourself multiple times a week... heck! even multiple times a day!!!

...Maybe I'll just forget the curtains and start charging....

Just Some Small Talk about minds

My brother R called me, following up with a job opportunity that Jerk Face had for him... I didn't know a whole lot of specifics.. just what Jerk Face had told me, so ..that's what I told R. After we hung up, Jerk Face had called me.. I asked him about what was going on with the job for R. He said that he actually emailed the guy earlier that morning... (fascinating, I know...) So I texted R what Jerk Face had just told me:

KSK: Weird, Jerk Face just called and said that he emailed guy this morning about job. He also said that if you were denied, you would have received a letter in the mail.

R: Ok. Great minds think alike KSK

KSK: I knew that -- but I never heard that about the idiot ones

R: It has to work the same way

KSK: LOL

A wee bit Wednesday

I wasn't particularly loving anything this Wednesday, so this link up is perfect!

{one} how often do you do laundry?Quite often... I'm doing it right now... and I did 2 loads on Monday...Adult clothing, baby clothing, towels, Minja blankets etc.
{two} what is your favorite type of cookie?All.of.them!  You can't just pick one type!!!
{three} what would you do with an extra $2000 per month?Put it into savings to buy some property in the country and build our dream house... and I guess hire a personal trainer... so I can eat my favorite types of cookies :)
{four} what was/is your favorite subject in school?Study hall.. wokka wokka! That's what I would write in school :)  I loved every art class I could take and history.
{five} have you ever ridden in a hot air balloon?No, I'm not sure if I want to... Think about being stuck in a tiny little basket up in the air...
{six} what was your high school mascot?Titans
{seven} if you had the chance to go into space, would you?Yes! I wanted to be an astronaut for a minute.. I even wrote NASA in grade school!
{eight} how often do you go dancing?I love to dance! I dance all of the time at home (with the blinds closed)... I would only go out to dance if there was drinking involved... I'm not much for making a fool of myself sober!!
{nine} would you rather drive or fly?Drive! I like to have things with me...  and I can stop if I want to... no body scans to get into my car... or luggage charges!
{ten} have you ever been caught re-gifting?No… I don’t think I’ve actually ever re-gifted.

Can You Smell That?

I have recently switched from nursing to formula...
I made it for 8 months... I said I would stop when it got creepy or LB got teeth...
She got teeth...   ..and I got done.
...
Which brings me to this question:
...
Does anyone else think that the formula reeks???!
We first used Enfamil (or, should I say EnfaSMELL?) and I thought that it smelled awful....  and then I moved onto the Similac..... WHOA! I mean SimiGAG!
It literally took my breath away!!!
I feel bad for feeding it to LB, but she takes it like a champ!
We think she might like all things putrid... the more rotten the better... Poor kid!

Seriously, though!  I have tried mixing it with warm water, cold water, room temperature water... and it just smells SO BAD!!!
The canisters are not close to expiring, and we tried a few cans of each.. just to be sure we didn't get a bad batch or something!!!
It doesn't stink in the can.. and the water doesn't stink... mix it together and HOLY STENCH!!!

Somebody PLEASE tell me that that is just how formula smells and I'm not feeding my baby daughter some rancid death water...
I don't think it should smell like roses.... but I don't want to gag every time I make a bottle... and then have to feed said bottle to an innocent child who doesn't know that what she is eating smells worse than ... month old garbage!  ...and that month old garbage has rotting food and other nasty odors permeating from it....
*shudder* ugh!  Nasty!
..I COULD be exaggerating a TINY bit... but not that much... it REALLY stinks. I wish I could somehow post the smell for you all to enjoy.


Next up, we have Gerber Good Start....  Please, wish us a heavenly scent!
I hope we can call it Gerber Good  Scent and not Gerber Smells like fart!

Facebook and Fancy Free

As you may remember, I gave up the facebook for Lent. *sigh*  It wasn't AS hard as what I thought it would be... I do miss remarking on other people's stuff and getting into mini conversations (or even long ones) But all of the crap posts.. like the: "so and so just answered a question about you on this" or "Farmer Bob needs a hammer. Please send him a hammer." I know I can turn those off, and I do... they just keep coming out with more crap to flood my page! It is SO aNNOYING!

I don't think I will be on there very much after Lent is over with... I have blogs to stalk now! ...and that's way more fun and important! *smile*

I'm a Cake Baller

I've been seeing cake balls everywhere lately!  I've never had one and they look interesting...  So, I went to my the recipe website that I love so much.... yes, allrecipes.com  ....  *SURPRISE!* to look up how to make them. They look Super Duper Easy!! I might even say:  Like a piece of cake!  There's always room for cheese here ;)
I had some Betty Crocker Devil's Food cake in my pantry... **I also have some Betty Crocker Decadent Supreme Chocolate Mousse cake mix that Jerk Face was supposed to make me for my birthday....  in JANUARY! he didn't make it, hence I still have it.  I hope you read this Jerk Face!

Anyways... back to my cake ballin'.  All you need to do is:

Make the cake according to the package.

After it has cooled... you don't want cake balls of fire... crumble the cake and mix with a can of frosting.

*I made my own chocolate and coffee flavored icing*

Form into cake balls and freeze.

Once Frozen (because it's easier to dip), dip into melted chocolate.

And Voila!  You're finished!

I know they're not the prettiest, I WAS going to drizzle some white chocolate over the tops, but I think I burnt my generic vanilla flavored baking chips when I microwaved it...

Holy Cake Balls, Batman! That was easy!

So easy, in fact, that I'm going to make some more for Easter... 

and I think I'll be making some for LB's birthday!

Top 2 Tuesday: drinks

 This weeks subject is favorite drinks...and I'm posting more than two... oops!:

I need my Chai Tea Lattes in the mornings... afternoons... and sometimes early evening...  I add Vanilla Silk or Boathouse Chai to my latte... And I have to use my 'moo cup'... Thanks sister! I love it!!! 

I'm not a huge pop drinker, but I love me some root beer! This was great during my pregnancy because it's caffeine free... Unfortunately, many places don't carry root beer -- especially the diet, caffeine free variety.

And that brings me to my favorite wine.

I do drink my mixed drinks and beers, but I'm usually not loyal to a certain brand, like my wine. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and splurge! it's only 12 bucks... and does go on sale... it's worth it!

I had THREE bottles staring at me during my pregnancy and while I nursed LB... It was torturous! There was a little dust on the bottle (*Isn't that a country song?) when I went to take my artsy fartsy posed photo... with my junky 4 year old camera phone... I'll need to break into one sometime soon.... CHEERS!

Full of LB

This post is mostly for family. We live (at the closest) an hour away from any family.. and we don't get to visit everyone as often as we would like. With LB growing so quickly and learning new things constantly, I thought that I would post a video of LB, for our family to view and enjoy...  In this video, LB has just learned to clap and has a new favorite game in Pat-a-cake!  We did this a few times prior, and she started to lose interest, and this was actually the last time she played along while we were recording her:

She claps her hands all.of.the.time! I was trying to put her to bed last night... 2 1/2 hours with many clapping sessions, LB finally drifted off to sleep! She's napping right now, and was sleep clapping for a little bit! *I SHOULD'VE gotten a video of that!

Today was our very first day at the park!!!  We went down the slide and played in the swing! We had so much fun!

And LB even got dirty!
